Maybe you’ve seen the pictures or talked to fellow Rotaractors about Rotaract Pre-Convention and Rotary International Convention, and now you want to attend Hawaii. It can seem like a daunting amount of information and planning so maybe you don’t know where to start. There are three main areas to consider when planning to attend Rotaract20. Figure out registration, transportation, and accommodation and you’ll be on your way to Hawaii!

Get registered

If you plan to register for the full convention (and we suggest you do), you’ll need to register for both Rotaract Preconvention and Rotary International Convention. Just select Rotaract Preconvention as a session when you register. You’ll also need a MyRotary account. Not sure if you have an account? Talk to your club president or register for a MyRotary account. Keep these two important dates in mind:

  • Last day for early-registration discount: December 15, 2019
  • Last day for preregistration discount: March 31, 2020

Book a flight

Unless you’re lucky enough to live on Oahu, you’ll need to find a flight. We recommend flying into Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and arriving in time to get settled and attend the first Rotaract HOC event on the evening of Thursday, June 4th. Google Flights is a great tool to compare prices and flight times. If you need a visa, we recommend applying before December 1st, 2019. Check out these visa FAQs for more info.

Find housing

Housing is filling up quickly for this convention, so consider booking soon! There are room blocks at a variety of hotels conveniently located near the convention center. Check prices and availability of the official Rotary International Convention hotels. As a more affordable option, we recommend checking the availability of local hostels. Please note Oahu has passed new laws that may impact Airbnb restorations. Double-check your existing reservation and if you plan to book, make sure your host has the required licensing.

Get excited

Rotaract Precon and Rotary International Convention are amazing experiences and well worth the planning. You’ll make new friends and experience the heart of Rotary. We’ll continue to provide tips on getting funding, host committee events, and planning for Rotaract20!
